About
Welcome to Vote on My Life! The site where people submit polls for decisions they’re trying to make to see what the public thinks. Each poll has a pre-determined list of options and a day when voting closes. So get voting now!
History
One January day in 2009, Paul was telling George (not his real name) about an article he read – a man in the MidWest had asked random people on the streets for advice, on his 401k investments, what to eat, etc. Shortly thereafter, George called me up to pitch his latest blog idea for me: have people make decisions for me. Five months earlier, I had left Google to pursue my passions and writing was one of them. So I had been bouncing numerous site ideas off of him. I was skeptical about this one but I was still listening. “Lou, you take forever to decide anyway. So this will be win-win.”
In February, I launched my own blog and started to post polls every few days – should I enter a bet, which gym should I join, where should I strike up random conversations. Generally days I have polls turn out to be my highest traffic days. So I decided to expand the idea and create a site where people could submit their own questions and have others vote on them.
Consider this an experiment in testing the efficacy of groupthink and the wisdom of crowds. Polls will be categorized with a brief summary of the decision trying to be made, most will have an end date and time. Once the polls close, I’ll follow up with individuals and post a write up on the outcome of the decision and anything else that is noteworthy.
Thanks for voting!
Jen
