Should Frank leave his job now or later?
After 6 months of unemployment, I joined a company that I was certain that I would stay at for a long time—even making the promise to the managers that I wanted to be a lifer. I chose this company because of the people I would be working with and possibility of learning. However, now 7 months later, my original manager and another director has left. Granted I love more responsibility, but now I have no mentor, no structure, no direct manager...have to deal with other departments. Plus this one hour commute is becoming a headache rather than a pleasure. A new general manager was hired recently, but I sensed that most things won't change.
