Is Willie Brown a world leader/politician?
Help settle a disagreement sent in from Chang, his peace of mind (and friendships) depend on your vote.
The Scattergory was "World Leaders/Politicians" and the letter was "W". I answered Willie Brown, former mayor of SF and Speaker of the CA State Assembly. Easy answer. Much to my shock, it got put to a vote! Someone claimed the word "World" modified both "Leaders" and "Politicians", and therefore Willie did not qualify. Who the heck has ever heard the phrase "world politician" before? Everyone has heard the phrase "world leader" and has a general sense of what that means. It's a commonly used phrase. "World leaders met tonight at a summit in Norway..." But world politician? I wasn't worried. And if there was any ambiguity, it should be resolved in my favor, since there's no conclusive way to determine that the creators meant otherwise. But I lost the freakin' vote! According to my friends, Willie Brown is not a world leader/politician. I'm pretty sure I got screwed.
