First let me say that you know what you want. It is obvious from the way the options are worded. So why are you asking other people?
Secondly, I would rather vote for an option that is not included. I think you should enjoy your son and not worry about becoming “the man”. Besides the Mayan calendar ends on 12/21/12…enough said.

Save the 200K/20K, buy a whole lot of steroids instead, spend the 2-3 years in the gym, become a professional bodybuilder and then kick the crap out of whoever planted the b-school idea in your head.

If you go with the Butler option, you will save money, make money and be involved in theater. You can also perform in community theater while still having job security. With a family to support, you must make the responsible choice while pursuing your dream!

if you are really weighing these options, then the more expensive option isn’t the right one. only go to Harvard and fork over the dough if that is what you really, really want. personally, i think going to Harvard is the right choice but you aren’t passionate about it, it’s not the right choice for you.

One thing to keep in mind – Butler doesn’t offer a non-profit concentration. But it’s not like you need a non-profit focus to get a non-profit job. You could also work with the department heads to do a special topics study in non-profit management. Butler was very flexible with special topics when I attended.

You should only get an MFA in Acting if you want to teach acting at a university level. Studying acting is not an MFA effort. If all things are equal and you have the money, or stomach for the debt, then go to Harvard. A degree from Harvard can be translated into any other industry.
